Update on Jeremy's Trip

Jeremy made it home safely from his trip to the Amazon. We are all glad to have him back home. We are still hearing stories and looking at pictures. There is so much to tell! He has started writing about his trip on our website, BraziltotheUttermost.com.  You can click here to read his post about the trip and see some pictures. He plans to write more and post more pictures, but, as you can imagine, it takes time and he has many other things to catch up on also. Stay tuned for more updates!

I am still amazed that in this country there are so many people who live in a totally different world. There are even people who have never had contact with "white men." It seems so hard to imagine, but looking at his pictures and hearing the stories of this trip has really made me think about how many people in this country still need to hear about our Lord. There are still Indians there living only off the land, in conditions like we would think of in the "wild west." Here we are, in the same country with them, but yet they are still so far away and out of reach. Think about the United States, and imagine that from the Mississippi River to the East Coast there was nothing but unexplored forest, and people who are living there in an uncivilized culture. But you can't just march in there and try to teach them. We are as foreign and strange to them as if a UFO landed in your city and an alien stepped out and started speaking some foreign language. It would be frightening for them, and they wouldn't understand. Also, there are many governmental restrictions keeping people away from the Indian tribes. 

It is such a difficult situation, and there are many challenges, but we are praying that the Lord would do a great work.
