A Visit from Mimi and Papi!

We have been busy entertaining our first visitors here in Rondônia. Jeremy's mom and dad came and spent a week with us, and we were all excited to see them again. We enjoyed our time with them so much.

There is not too much to see around us other than the beautiful country side, but we tried to show them a few little neat places that we have run across.

Our biggest outing was taking them to see the waterfall.

The "resort" located at the waterfall has this water slide, so the two older boys and Daddy had a good time trying that out.

Judson wasn't old enough to go down the slide, so he just sat the bottom and tried to get splashed as they came down. I think he had a good time too.

We learned that flying in and out of a small airport like the one near us can be quite an adventure, and you have to be ready for anything...or sometimes nothing.

Their flights were changed around several times, and they still ended up leaving late and being re-routed. The trip took much longer than they anticipated, but thankfully they made it home safely.

Our family is scheduled to travel in and out of here this summer, and all of our flights have been changed or cancelled, so we are in the midst of trying to figure out how to make all these plans work.

I am supposed to leave in six days to get a flight to São Paulo, where I will catch another flight to the US for a three week visit. We have changed to a slightly larger airport, but there is still much uncertainty about the flights.

I would really appreciate your prayers that my domestic flight from here will continue as planned so that I don't miss my international flight. We didn't know there was this much difficulty when we scheduled everything, so now we just have to trust the Lord to work it out.

Double digits!

It's so hard to believe that ten years have passed since a beautiful baby boy entered the world and changed my life forever!

We are very proud of Josiah. He is pleasant, smart, helpful, and a joy to be around. I pray continually for the wisdom to lead him in the direction that God has for him. Our greatest desire is that he loves that Lord with all his heart.

Happy 10th Birthday, Josiah!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is a special day. I was greeted at my bedroom door this morning by sweet, smiling faces and was presented with a card that Josiah made in art class.

He wrote messages on the back of each petal. It was very special, because I think this is the first time he has written down his own personal Mother's Day message, and his words were so very precious.  I am so grateful for these three little guys who call me "Mom."

I am overwhelmed at times with the task of motherhood. God has entrusted me with such an important job of raising three boys to grow up into what I hope will be three Godly men who love the Lord with all of their heart, soul, and mind.

I think today of my own mother. Oh, how I wish I could be with her today...make her dinner or take her out...and just be together. That's not possible today, but I am counting the days until we will be together. Even though it won't be the second Sunday in May, it will definitely be "mother's day."  I am so thankful for my mother who has always been there for me and has been such a help to me in so many ways in my life.

I am also thankful for my mother-in-law. She has always been a blessing and encouragement to me. She is a godly example of what a missionary wife should be, and I have learned countless lessons from her.

There are many who have only memories of their mother today.  Take advantage of every opportunity to love on your mother while you can!

And so, to my mother, mother-in-law, my sister, sisters-in-law, my aunts, and my friends I wish a
Happy Mother's Day!

Six Years

Today we are celebrating six years of silliness

Six years of spunkiness

Six years of surprises

Six years of pure sweetness

We love you, Judson Micaiah!
Happy, happy birthday!
