Nearly every time we leave the house, the boys are on the lookout for "fancy" cars. They keep count of how many Audis, BMWs, Mercedes', Mustangs, etc. that they see. They know nearly all the symbols for all the cars, and can tell what they are from a distance.
There is a certain highway that we take when we cross the city that has many car dealers, and some that are very high end. The boys just LOVE to look in the stores as we pass to see what kind of cars they can spot.
We decided that it would be fun to take the guys into to one of those stores sometime, and we decided that Josiah's birthday weekend would be a good occasion. We didn't tell them where we were going, but they were already looking for the cars. And when we pulled into the parking lot of a particular store where the boys had spotted several imported fancy cars, they were so excited!
We weren't really sure what kind of reception we would get. Obviously a family of five wasn't really seriously shopping for that kind of vehicle! A salesman greeted us at the door, and Jeremy told him that the kids just wanted to look, and he was so kind to us. He told us to "make ourselves at home" and look at whatever we wanted. It's amazing what you can get away with when you have three cute little boys with you! There was a Hummer, several BMW's, a Cadillac SUV, a Mini Cooper, two Mustangs, a Porsche and several others. But there in the middle of the store was a shiny red Ferrari! The boys looked and oohed and aahed. They had a great time, and I'm glad we got to make a memory with them.
Jeremy talked with the salesman while the boys and I looked around. He told Jeremy that the price of this Ferrari was R$1,200,000, which is $750,000! It is a 2009 with only 700 kilometers (434 miles) on it. Wow! That's an expensive garage decoration!!
Before we left we asked if we could take a picture in front of the car, and he said we could. He said we could put them up on the motorcycles if we wanted to! He was really great. So here they are...just looking!
The Ferrari was nice, but I have to say that my personal favorite was this Mustang. It's hard to see in the picture, but it had red leather interior. Sweet!
I asked Josiah if he could pick, which car would he pick? He said, "I'm not sure. We can't all fit in the Ferrari. It only fits two." So I asked what if he was picking just for him. He decided on the Ferrari for him and his wife! I asked Judson and he said that he would just go in my car with me, since I had already picked the Mustang. It's fun to be the mom of three boys!

Josiah is 8!!!
This year's cake request was an American flag. Not sure if he is feeling patriotic, or homesick, or just likes the flag, but that's what he wanted, and I strive to please!
I'm still in denial that I have an EIGHT year old! How did that happen!?! We are very proud of Josiah. He is a good student and a good helper at home. He is a quick study and loves to read. He is tender hearted, and we are grateful to see the Lord working in his life. We are anxious to see what God accomplishes with the life of our special boy!

I thought sparkler candles would be appropriate on this patriotic cake, but unfortunately we couldn't get them to both light at the same time! It was still fun.

Josiah and Jonathan's Baptism
We were excited to see our oldest two boys follow the Lord in baptism. They both received Christ as their Savior separately about a year ago, and recently began asking if they could be baptized.
Judson was excited to watch them, and when it was over, he asked if "the boys were going to come out in their angel clothes."
Here are a few pictures. Jeremy posted a video of their baptism on our website, Brazil to the Uttermost. You can click HERE if you would like to watch it.

A Ladies' Tea
I was asked to speak at a Ladies' Tea recently. It was a momentous event for me, because it was the first time that I have spoken to a group of adults in Portuguese. I have taught children several times in Portuguese already, but children are very forgiving with grammatical errors.
I was very nervous, as I always am when I have to speak, but the Lord really helped me to think clearly, and hopefully they could understand what I said! I'm thankful for the opportunity that the Lord has given me to serve Him and attempt to help and encourage others. I'm also thankful for the patience, kindness, and encouragement of the ladies of this church.

Judson's 4th Birthday
My 'baby' turned four years old yesterday!
He has without a doubt added some sparkle and excitement to our lives!
You never know what he will say or do.
But we sure do love him and we're glad to have him!
We invited Jeremy's parents to come for lunch, and Judson planned the menu: sloppy joes, macaroni and cheese, apples, and "abacado" (guacamole) and chips. He specifically requested cupcakes. At first he wanted orange flavored ones, but I told him I didn't know how to make those, so he decided chocolate would be OK. And they MUST have green frosting!
It was a success and he was happy. That makes me happy.
