I realize that this blog has been sitting stagnant for a while, and maybe there is no one left out there in "blog world" who will even look here anymore, but I haven't given up on blogging. We have been encountering several...shall we say obstacles that have made our life and work a bit more complicated. Have you ever heard that say, "when it rains, it pours"? It seems like that is exactly what has been happening in our home.
I mentioned before that our camera stopped working, which made blogging a little more of a challenge, but, praise the Lord, and group of workers from one of our supporting churches came a few weeks ago to help work on a church building here in the city, and we were able to order a camera online and have them bring it in for us, just in time for Jonathan's birthday! This was a huge blessing, and saved us a bundle!
Then, two weeks ago on a Sunday night we had a really big storm, and twice it sounded like the lighting must have hit right on top of our house...and evidently it did, because the next morning our internet was out, and several other things connected to our wireless router weren't working. It took a week and a half for the technician from the internet company to come and restore our service. But for some reason, my computer still won't connect to the internet. So now I am using Jeremy's when I get a chance, and he is trying to figure out the problems with mine.
I am so thankful for modern technology...at least when it works! We do so much with the internet...banking, email, phone, news, weather, and so much more. I felt so much farther away from everyone when we were without it.
In the midst of all this we have had many other things break or go wrong, and it's so easy to get frustrated and discouraged. It's so much more difficult and expensive to replace things here. But we must keep our eyes on the Lord and realize that He is in control of all these circumstances. At least we are not without power like so many who are snowed in there in the US! We do have much to be thankful for, and we must remember that!
I hope to post some pictures from our new camera soon, so keep checking back! I'll try not to take so long to post again!
Oh no! I'm so sorry! It's good to hear from you again. I totally agree with you about the technology. It is a blessing - most of the time! :)
ReplyDeletePS - I love your new blog header and background!
We were iced over & lost power for 24 hours. I was pathetic...you would have thought we'd been without power for 24 days! haha Sorry to hear about your computer. I love the updates & I especially love the quotes. Tell Siah that for the last couple of weeks, I've tried to make Monday disappear too! Love you!!
