A Walk in the Park

We are having a great time in this mission conference. We are at the Independent Baptist Church in Spokane Valley, WA. The people here have been so kind to us, and treated us like royalty. The boys are being kept full of cookies and candy. The services have been very good and we have really enjoyed it.There is a mechanic in the church here, the same one who worked on our van last time we were in Spokane. He had Jeremy bring the van over again, and he put new brakes on and found a crack in our wheel, so he got us a new wheel and had it installed. Praise the Lord! He is so good to us!

The church put us up in a very nice hotel for the week, so we are very comfortable, but as you can imagine, three little boys get a little stir crazy in one room all day (and Mom, too!). We decided to give everyone a break, so yesterday we went downtown Spokane to the Riverfront Park. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time. There are some falls right downtown that are just breathtaking. We enjoyed walking around and taking in the view and the sounds.

The park is where they had a World's Fair years ago, so they still have some things there to do. We took the kids to play mini golf. This was their first golf experience, and it was really funny to watch them. Then we took them to ride on the Carousel. It was an old wooden one built in 1909. It was beautiful and they enjoyed it...once they got into it. Josiah had a little moment of panic just before it started, but he hung in there and liked it after all.

After the ride we got some cotton candy just to complete the experience. This was Judson's first cotton candy, and he loved it!

I was so disappointed that this wagon was closed for repairs. I had seen it on a website and thought it was so neat! We had to take a picture anyway. You can't really tell in the picture, but the handle of the wagon is a slide. Very cool!

The weather is turning cold here this weekend, so I'm glad we got out when we did. We enjoyed the day so much. We are thankful for our children and we love family time together!

Have a great day!!

  1. Yes, I agree, the wagon looks very neat! I'm glad you got a photo anyway.
BTW, is it Spo-cane or Spo-can? I've always wondered how to pronounce it!
Thanks for keeping us posted on all of the blessings the Lord is sending you along your journey! You are a blessing!
We are praying for your safety as well. And I'll definitely be telling Mom hello for you, and your boys. She thinks they are adorable!
    Thanks for your prayers.

  3. Hi Amanada,
Came back to say that we are in Sherwood Park, Alberta, which is a suburb of Edmonton. We would still be far from where you are...too bad..we would love the company. It is so good to see a familiar face. In the past year, I've only seen 3 people I knew.
By the way...love the inside the car picture with the Huggies box in the back window. We ALWAYS traveled with one of those!
