A New Beginning

This blog began back in 2008 as a way to share our experiences as we traveled the country, and so that the grandparents could "see" their grandkids, even if just in pictures.  Then we moved to Brazil and I began writing about the interesting situations we found ourselves in, adapting to a new country, culture, and language, and still sharing pictures for family to see the boys growing.

Since then, we have settled in to life here, and things don't seem so interesting anymore!  I didn't want to bore anyone with posts of everyday life, and there were many days when I just didn't feel like I had much to say, so it was neglected somewhat.

Last year we traveled to the US and we were blessed with the opportunity to do so many amazing things. We made incredible memories during that time, and I tried to take a lot of pictures with the blog in mind. But it was difficult to keep up with blogging on the road, and I also didn't want to give the wrong impression, that we were just on one big vacation.  Sometimes putting your life out there for "everyone to see" can be an invitation for unwanted criticism, so to play it safe I just didn't post more.

But I don't want that to rob my family and close friends of the chance to see pictures of the boys and of our normal and uninteresting life!

That being said, I am going to make this blog private, to be viewed only by invitation. That way, I know who is out there looking at us, and I can feel more relaxed to post things without having to worry about what someone might think of it.

I hope this isn't inconvenient for anyone.  We really do want to stay connected with family and friends who have been faithful encouragers and cheerleaders for us. If you know of someone who has not been invited but would like to read, please let me know.

Thanks!
~Amanda

  1. We want to read about your boring life... or it would seem like you have more fun than us. :-) I totally get what you mean though. Social media has a way of making our lives look like one big party sometimes, especially if we only post the good, cool, awesome things we do. Then again, who wants to read about the day to day stuff? Bur for me, that is the encouraging... that others keep on keeping on, and struggle sometimes, and their kids get bored just like mine :-)
Looking forward to your new blog.
My invitation said expires march 14,2016, so not sure how that works, but I (and family) want to keep up with the mundane and the excitement in your lives.

    1. Thanks! I think as long as you accept the invite by that date, it's fine. But let me know if you can't get on sometime. Thanks for the encouragement!
