A Lost 'Sole'

In the spirit of the New Year, we decided that we would try to eat healthier, exercise, and lose weight this year. (That's what you are supposed to do right!?)

A few ladies at church decided that we should try walking together to get some exercise and motivate each other.  As moms with kids at home, it is a little more challenging to find a time when we can get away, and since it is rainy season, it seemed to rain every time we planned to go walking. It took until February to get us going, but we finally set a day and time and took off. Even in the drizzling rain, we walked about three miles.

It was good exercise, and I enjoyed the time chatting with the girls, but my shoes didn't have such a great time!  I walked the last mile or so with the sole of my shoe...in my hand!

By the time I got home, my socks were soggy and my other shoe was about to go also. (Apparently tennis shoes that are already several years old don't handle being stored in the heat of Brazil very well. )

With every squishy and floppy step I was already looking forward to buying new shoes. After all, walking in new shoes would be even MORE fun! You can imagine my disappointment when Jeremy met me at the door and said, "I can glue that back together and they will work just fine."

So we compromised. I let him glue them back together...to use until the new ones I ordered arrived in the mail!
