A Trip to Porto Velho

Last Sunday Jeremy was invited to preach at a church in the city of Porto Velho, so we decided to make a family outing of it.  We were able to stop and visit some missionary friends on the way, and then spend Saturday and Sunday at the church.

Since we had made this five hour trip to Porto Velho, we wanted to take advantage of it and do some shopping on Monday while we were there. I really wanted to go to the mall, since this is the closest one to us.  The boys were excited to see a toy store, and they were able to spend some of their saved up money on Christmas gifts for each other.

It was great to get to see "something different," and we enjoyed the time out together. We even splurged and ate out at McDonald's.  Yes, you read that right.  We don't have any fast food restaurants in our area, and McDonald's is actually quite pricey here so it is a rarity for sure.

The mall was all decorated for Christmas and it was very pretty.

This is a fishing village right on the highway

The water is quite low. Normally the water comes right up to the bottom of the houses.

It was good to get away for a few days, and it's always good to get back home!  I am thankful for the Lord's care and keeping of us on the journey.
