An Update from Jeremy

Here is just a little update on my trip to California. The Lord really opened some doors while I was in California. Last week I was primarily knocking doors for Bro. Brian Leversee who just had his first service yesterday, 9-7-08. We have been praying that the Lord would do something great in that church. He is a very organized person and I am sure the Lord will use him.

Friday of last week I spent the day at my Uncle’s house and did some computer work. The website is up and running in its new format with different languages, but there is still more translation and updating to do. I was able to finish translation on several pages and update a few other things. Friday night I went with my uncle, family, and friends to the fair to watch a “figure 8” race. That was a sight to see. I really enjoyed it. There were many close calls and by the end of the race only two cars were running.

Sunday I attended church at Harvest Baptist Church in Santa Clarita. Alan Dennison is the pastor there. He asked me to give a testimony and then took me out to lunch afterwards. Sunday evening I went to Lancaster and met Paul Chappell who invited me to come have lunch with him or his assistant pastor.

Tuesday I had a meeting scheduled with Bro. John Wilkerson. I had a wonderful time talking to him. Yes, they have been through a hard time, but the Lord is helping them. Please keep praying for their family. The meeting was very promising and we hope to hear back from them in the future.

Wednesday I met with Bro. Ferrso in Lancaster. We had lunch together and talked about the ministry and what God has called us to do in Brazil. Next I drove down to Camarillo to meet Bro. Leversee and help knock a few more doors. At night I drove up to Lompoc and attended Lompoc Valley Baptist Church where Travis Collins is the pastor. Bro. Edgar Feghaly was visiting and giving a report on the ministry in the Middle East. After church we went out for dinner. What a great time of fellowship we had. I arrived back at my Uncle’s about 1:00 am.

Thursday I drove to Oceanside to meet Bro. Steve Chappell for lunch. I really enjoyed spending time with him. He was my youth director in 97-98, and now his church supports us. After some good fellowship I drove down to San Diego and checked into the motel to rest a little before heading off to church. At night I went to Canyon Ridge Baptist Church and gave my testimony.

Friday morning I left at 6:00 am to drive back to LAX and catch my flight. Wow, I drove back up, got a bite to eat, gassed up the car, returned the car, caught the shuttle, checked in, and passed through security in the time I thought it would take me to just drive up there. Thank the Lord for a wonderful trip and a safe flight home.

Please pray that the Lord will burden the hearts of the pastors I spoke with to take us on for support. Many of them have said they are considering it. It would be a real boost and get us much closer to the field. Praise the Lord for His goodness to us. Thank you for your prayers.
