Last week was the holiday Carnaval (Mardi Gras) here in Brazil. Many churches have a camp during this time to give their people something to do as an alternative to the activities of the world.
This year Josiah had the opportunity to go with a missionary friend and his church to camp. This was a first for him, and a first for me to let him go away for six days without us. We knew he was in good hands, but I was still a little nervous. I know it's good for them to step out a little and learn to make some decisions on their own and have to be responsible for themselves, but it's hard for Momma to let go! It wasn't hard for him. He was so excited to go that he hardly said goodbye!
He had a great time, and all went well. He even managed to bring home all of his belongings. Two of our neighbor boys went with him, and one of them accepted Christ as his Savior. This was an answer to our prayers.
Josiah came home with lots of stories to tell and it was a good experience for him.

Oh wow! Our kids are sure growing up fast. I'm so happy for him! :)
