Three Days of Winter

I rarely even look at the weather forecast anymore. I know that it's going to be hot. During rainy season, I know that it's going to be hot and it's going to rain. It gets a little monotonous.

Last week, though, we had somewhat of a shock. I read on the news website that a cold front was coming and we were supposed to have low temperatures around 50°! Now I realize that this doesn't sound too bad, but when you are used to lows in the 70's and highs in the 90's this is quite different! We had about three days of "cold" temperatures, and I thought it was great! We felt like putting up the Christmas tree or something!

It's hard to get out of a warm bed in a cold room! It was 48° one morning when I got up.

We all dug out the sweatshirts and socks and drank lots of coffee and hot chocolate.

It was a nice treat...while it lasted.

Now we are back to normal with expected highs of 98-102° the next several days.

  1. I thought your seasons were opposite ours? No? It's in the triple digits here now, too.

  2. They technically are because we are in the southern hemisphere. However, we are so close to the equator that we really don't have four seasons, we just have rainy season and dry season, but it's always hot. This cold spell was something very rare, and they say that IF it comes, it is only once a year, and only lasts a couple of days.
