Even inside the US there are many different cultures. I grew up in a rural area. Our house was, and is, surrounded by fields. Many summers it was nearly hidden behind fields of corn. A majority of the people who live in the area are farmers, or work in an area related to it. It’s pretty safe to say that it’s also a “redneck” area of the country. Trucks, boots, dogs, hunting, fishing, and all that goes with it.
Labor Day we spent the day with family, and we went to enjoy the local entertainment…a tractor pull and truck pull. It was a great experience for the boys. I had to laugh when I looked around and noticed that our family seemed to “stick out” a bit. I guess we have become “city folk.”
The weight increases as the tractor goes, so the object is to be the one that goes the farthest.
(That's my simple take on it!)

Judson tends to lose interest pretty quickly. He had more fun meticulously picking out certain blades of grass.
The boys couldn't believe how big the corn really is when you stand next to it. It looks much smaller from the road.
I just went to my first tractor pull about 2 weeks ago... I'm really not sure I'd volunteer to go back, but it was different!! lol My ole KY husband was thrilled!! =D
