Josiah's Birthday

Today we celebrated Josiah's 7th birthday! It's still hard for me to believe he is seven years old, and each birthday of his makes me feel a little older! We have some missionary friends here in São Paulo whose daughter has the same birthday as Josiah (just two years later!). We decided to do a party together with them this year. We wanted a theme that would be good for boys and girls both, and we decided on a "bug" theme. Abigail wanted a ladybug cake, and Josiah opted for an ant!

I was nominated to make the cakes. This was my first time to try rolled buttercream icing. It was a little hard to handle, but once I got the hang of it and figured out a few tricks, it wasn't too bad.

We have been very blessed. Josiah is a bright, caring, thoughtful child, and we know that it is a great responsibility to raise him for the Lord. We are thankful that He has entrusted us with our children.
